Iris Apfel is an icon for all ages. Oversized glasses and huge accessories are her signature' style. She mix high and low fashions showing us her stylish originality and strong personality.
Her own style was premiered on Sept 13,2005 by The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York through an exhibition entitled "Rara Avis: the Irriverent Iris Apfel" focused on her vintage collection of clothing and accessories. She is in the world of fashion, textiles and interior design for over the past 40 years.
She says: "Fashion you can buy, but style you possess. The key to style is learning who you are, which takes years. There's no how-to-roadmap to style. It's about self expression and, above all, attitude".
I agree with her. We need to by inspired by all around us, knowing ourselves and be authentic. When we are true to ourselves everything will look amazing. Style has not age, has not beauty rules. We reveal ourselves playing through fashion. Actually fashion is our business card.
